Mr. Lincoln's War - - - printer-friendly version
P.M. Camp at Suffolk Virginia - Sept. 19th, /62
Dear Frank,
I have just eat my dinner, we have a good cook. I am hearty and well, my knee
is a little better. Our sick were sent back to Norfolk yesterday... Last night
I dreamed of home though I am not at all home sick, never for a moment regretted
my course. Frank don't worry about me, everything is for the best for those
who do their duty and I mean to do mine. Frank I should like to be at home
a day or two and kiss you all around, I mean you and the babies but could
not see it my duty to take a discharge if tendered to me at present.
Goodbye for this time
O.S. Allen
