Lookout Valley Tenn April 10/64

Dear Cassius
Your letter of March 30th was received 2 or 3 days ago and was glad to hear that you are well... we are still lying in Lookout valley, but expect thare will be a move here as soon as they can get ready. The 11th & 12th Corps are consolidated & we expect that thare will be a consolidation of Brigades & regiments, if thare is thare will be considerable many officers to be mustered out of the service & perhaps I may be one...
Yours & c.
John C. Griswold

(He was discharged 18 days later.)
