    The 9th Cavalry is returning home! The community is invited to learn more about living during the Civil War from the soldiers and family members camping at the Fenton Mansion. Donations accepted.

    5th Annual "Saints and Sinners" Lake View Cemetery Tours
    From 3 pm until 8 pm at Lake View Cemetery, corner of Buffalo St. and Lakeview Ave., Jamestown.
    The tour will uncover some of the more than 43,000 personal stories at Jamestown's beautiful Lake View Cemetery. Guests are asked to wear comfortable shoes, dress for the weather, bring a flashlight for the later tours and to be ready to learn some interesting information about Jamestown and Lake View Cemetery. $8 for adults, $2 for children & youth; half price for Fenton History Center members. Reservations are required; please call 664-6256 to reserve your tickets and time slot. Call early as the later tours fill up fast!

    5th Annual Twilight Mausoleum Tours at Lake View Cemetery
    Get a behind the scenes tour of a number of the elegant mausoleums in Jamestown's 1859 cemetery. Light refreshments follow the tour. 8 PM. The cost is $15/single, $25 per couple. Youth and children are $5. Reservations are required; please call 664-6256 to reserve your tickets.

    11:00 to 12:30 PM and 1:30 to 3:00 PM. A special holiday event for young ladies, their mothers, grandmothers, aunts and friends. The event includes tea, dessert, a craft and tour of the Fenton Mansion decked out in its seasonal finery. The cost is $15 per ticket. Space is limited. Reservations are required.

The Many Names of Lucy and Family

  • Lucille Desiree Ball born August 6, 1911 and died April 26, 1989) was born at 60 Stewart Avenue on the westside of Jamestown, N. Y. It is now 69 Stewart Avenue. She spent most of her childhood on Eighth Street, now Lucy Lane in Celoron, N.Y.
  • Lucy Ricardo was the fictitious character she played on television who lived at the fictitious address of 623 68th Street, N.Y., N.Y.
  • Lucie Desiree Arnaz (born July 17, 1951) is the daughter of Lucille Ball and Desi Arnaz, Sr. She is also an actress.
  • Desiderio Alberto Arnaz III ("Desi") (born March 2, 1917, died December 2, 1986) was the Cuban born band leader married November 30, 1940 and divorced March 3, 1960 to Lucille Ball.
  • Ricky Ricardo was the fictitious character Desi played on "I Love Lucy" show.
  • Desiderio Alberto Arnaz IV, ("Desi, Jr.") (born January 19, 1953) is the son of "Desi" Arnaz and Lucille Ball.
  • Little Ricky was the fictiious son of the fictitious Lucy and Ricy Ricardo, also born January 19, 1953.
  • Keith Thibodeaux is the television child actor who played Little Ricky.
  • Original broadcasts of "I Love Lucy" were run October 15, 1951 through May 6, 1957 (180 episodes) followed by 13 one hour specials that ran from November 6, 1957 through April 13, 1960.
