2017 Holiday Exhibit: A Shiny Bright Retro Holiday

Visit The Fenton History Center for” A Shiny Bright Retro Holiday”, the 2017 holiday exhibit featuring a 1960s aluminum tree forest complete with presents drawn from the permanent collection of the museum, ornaments, lights, and plenty of nostalgia. Transport yourself to a time when the holidays were as silvery and shiny as an astronaut. The exhibit opens November 24 and runs through January 20.

The Fenton History Center is open for self-guided tours Monday – Saturday 10:00-4:00.

Admission costs are:
Adult $10, Children (age 6-12) $4, Children 5 and under free, and Family Admission $30.

Halloween Party at the Mansion

Join us for a family-friendly historical Halloween party at the Fenton Mansion. Kids can tour the non-scary Halloween displays, learn about the history of Halloween and Victorian funeral customs, make Halloween crafts in the dining room, and enjoy several fun photo opportunities. Standard admission rates apply. Costumes are encouraged. 

Admission rates are $10/adults, $4/ children 6-12, children 5 & under free. There is also a family group rate of $30.

Why Not New York? The Road to the Vote Exhibit

New Yorkers played a pivotal role in the struggle for women’s suffrage and equal rights beginning in 1848 in Seneca Falls through the ratification of the 19th Amendment in 1920. November 2017 marks the Centennial of New York State granting women the right to vote. Celebrate New York State’s triumph.
Why Not New York? The Road to the Vote will address the struggle for equal rights in the 19th and 20th century, and the significant role that Chautauqua County citizens played in the movement for women’s suffrage.
This exhibit debuted the evening of June 14 and will stay on display until September 30. 
The Fenton History Center museum, gift shop and research center are open Monday through Saturday from 10 AM to 4 PM. Admission: Adult $10, Child (age 6 to 12) $4, Children (age 5 and under) Free Admission. Family Admission (children accompanied by parents) $30

Brown Bag Lunchtime Talks 2018

Brown Bag Lunchtime Talks will once again take place the second Wednesday of each month in the Fenton History Center dining room from 12 PM to 1 PM. Brown bag talks will begin on Wednesday, April 11 and conclude on Wednesday, October 10. Food and drink are permitted. A suggested donation of $5/person is graciously accepted.
