Please arrive at the starting points listed below no later than 9:45 AM for a 10 AM start time. Comfortable clothing and walking shoes are recommended. There is a $10 fee for potential members and a $5 fee for Fenton History Center members.  Children up to 18 are free with a paying adult. Please note that there is a limit of two children per paying adult. 

The Lakeview Avenue District was added to the National Register of Historic Districts in 2017. Learn more about Jamestown, New York's newly added historic district on June 17, July 15, August 12, and September 9.

Historic Downtown Jamestown: Jamestown's "Old Northside", which was located between 4th Street and the Chadakoin River, now makes up the City's greater downtown.  Discover the stories of the people and businesses that thrived there in the early 1800's throughout the 1950's.  
This two hour tour begins and ends at the Fenton History Center (67 Washington Street) and will be led by Gesele Koehler, Museum Teacher.  Interested persons should arrive by 9:45 AM for a 10 AM start time. This tour is available June 10, July 8, and August 19. 

Jamestown's Churches: Then and Now: Learn about the important role Jamestown's downtown churches have played in the City's development.  From St. Luke's Episcopal to the First Congregational - and the dozen in between - all have a story to tell. While most are gone, their influence is still evident.  

This two hour tour begins and ends at the Fenton History Center (67 Washington Street) and will be led by Fenton History Center Director Joni Blackman or former Fenton History Center Trustee Mat Hagberg, .  Interested persons should arrive by 9:45 AM for a 10 AM start time. This tour is available on June 25, July 22, and September 2.    

Jamestown's Hidden Alleys: Tucked away from view behind respectable facades, alleys were indispensable elements in planning streetscapes in American cities during the last half of the nineteenth century.  But, what were their purpose? How did they get their names? And - what is their purpose now? Learn the answers to these three questions and much, much more.  

This two hour tour begins and ends at the Fenton History Center (67 Washington Street) and will be led by Fenton History Center Trustee Cindy Rodgers.  Interested persons should arrive by 9:45 AM for a 10 AM start time. This tour is available on July 29 only. 

Jamestown's Southside: Jamestown's Southside was a mix of neighborhoods and thriving businesses in the mid 1800's and early 1900's.  Explore the beauty and majesty of an era gone by in the Southside neighborhoods near Forest Avenue.  Learn about the early businesses and people who thrived there.  

This two hour tour begins and ends at the Fenton History Center (67 Washington Street) and will be led by Fenton History Center Trustee Dr. Thomas Greer.  Interested persons should arrive by 9:45 AM for a start time.  This tour is available on July 1 and August 26. 

The Lakeview Loop: This tour provides an informative mixture of architectural and historical facts pertaining to a number of significant Northside homes and shares the details of the individuals and families who lived there.  You and your guide will weave through the historical development of Lakeview and Prendergast Avenues and some of the streets in between.  Discover how the newly registered Historical District's past continues to move forward into the present fabric of today.  

This two hour tour begins and ends at the Lake View Cemetery Association office (907 Lakeview Avenue) and will be led by Lake View Cemetery Superintendent Sam Genco, Fenton History Center Archivist Karen E. Livsey, or Fenton History Center Trustee Cindy Rodgers. Interested persons should arrive by 9:45 AM for a 10 AM start time. This tour is available on June 17, July 15, August 12, and September 9.
